EYESHOT a thriller by Taylor Adams published by Joffe Books, London

Joffe Books is delighted to announce the publication of this outstanding suspense thriller by a debut novelist from Washington state.

“Eyeshot had me intrigued from the moment I read the pitch Taylor sent me last year. The beautifully honed writing accentuates the demonic evil of the wisecracking sniper who pins down the couple in open desert.  I loved the precision and humor with which Taylor describes the couple’s rocky relationship. It really is one of those books you can’t put down.”

James and Elle Eversman are a young couple travelling through the Mojave desert on their way to a new life. When their car mysteriously breaks down they are stranded in the middle of nowhere without much water and no cell-phone reception.

A mile away a deadly sniper has them in his cross-hairs. They are pinned down behind their broken-down car, surrounded by open ground in all directions. There’s nowhere to run and no one to help them. How can they possibly survive?

With relentless tension, razor-sharp prose, and a surprising dose of dark humor, EYESHOT will keep you gripped till its stunning conclusion.

"Writing Eyeshot was fun because the story spans roughly six hours - basically one long, intensifying action sequence. My goal was to write a novel with the controlled urgency of a movie, hopefully compelling the reader to finish my book in a single sitting."

Taylor Adams directed the acclaimed short film And I Feel Fine in 2008 and graduated from Eastern Washington University with the Excellence in Screenwriting Award and the prestigious Edmund G. Yarwood Award. His directorial work has screened at the Seattle True Independent Film Festival and his writing has been featured on KAYU-TV's Fox Life blog. He has worked in the film/television industry for several years and lives in Washington state.

An independent publishing company based in the creative hub of Shoreditch, London, close to the digital and artistic communities that inspire it. Jasper Joffe, a contemporary artist, well-known for projects such as The Free Art Fair and The Sale of a Lifetime, decided to found a digital-only publishing company to release outstanding fiction and make the most of the new opportunities which are transforming the world of books.

“The age of Kindle means that I can bring great fiction out fast and with everything from cover, to blurb, to marketing done in-house. I’ve applied some of the knowledge I gained as a successful artist to the publishing world. It’s a really exciting moment to be doing this, because for the first time in history, a writer can send me a book and within months, if everything goes well, be selling their book and having thousands of people all over the world reading it!” Jasper Joffe
